5 Thankfuls

I picked up a good habit a few months ago. I heard the idea on one of the dozen or so podcasts I regularly listen to, not sure which but here is my simplified version. I don’t even write it down so it’s super easy. Because I keep it simple, it sticks and now it’s a habit. I love starting my day this way.

Positive Wake Up Habit

  1. Say your favorite verse or quote for starting the day. Each morning when I wake up I say the same verse and now it auto-runs through my head. Mine is Psalms 118:24 but pick your favorite.
  2. Name 5 things you’re thankful for, thus the name 5 Thankfuls
  3. Finish the following statement and let it be your prayer: Today, I could really use some help with or support around____________________________.

How about you? Do you have a favorite morning ritual that gets you in a positive frame of mind to start the day? Please share it with me! I love new ideas. And please steal this one or adapt your own version of whatever works for you.

Take Action: Do this 3-step practice for a week and see if you notice a difference in your outlook. If you really want to see something cool, reflect at the end of each day on what you most needed help with and how it worked out.

This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalms 118:24
